A note from the RoadRunners leadership
As we end 2024, your Clifton RoadRunners leadership wanted to thank you and reflect on another successful year. There was a change in leadership and change can be difficult for some people, so we wanted to assure you that we take your faith in us seriously and hope that the club can continue to grow and adapt to the changing running environment.
After years of discussion, we were finally able to develop and adopt Club By-Laws. These By-Laws set the process for club activities including organization structure, teams and social media. The RoadRunners Club wants to upload our moniker of “The Friendliest Running Club” and the by-laws set the foundation.
We have also increased participation in the Board and hope to continue that process in 2025.This year: Gregory took over communication from Raquel, Raquel and James learned how to captain the USATF teams, Dolly and James assisted the Board with the bylaws, Dolly volunteered for the Scholarship Committee, Raquel started the food collection for St. Peter’s Haven, Edgar and Dolly joined the membership committee and your Board members- Annemarie, George, Cathy, Carole, Antoinette, Jim, Raquel and Gregory met monthly to continue these activities and plan for the future. We also had enough volunteers at the NYC Marathon to gain an extra bib for Clifton's NYRR members. Lisa has volunteered to coordinate for 2025. Carole is working on bun run season and great to see the dates filling up!
We are hoping to have members write up their running experiences for the website that Jim keeps updated, we are hoping that all committees grow and are looking for volunteers for clothing- jackets and team singlets; reviving the InterClub Challenge and more! This club is your club and will continue with your participation. Looking forward to bun run season and a great 2025!
